The Body Shop Cares For My Skin

As I have gotten older, I have noticed that I breakout more than when I was a teenager. And, when I breakout, it is not little either. It is what dermatologist and aestheticians call "cystic breakout." Ugh! Unfortunately, I have the worst habits on taking care of my skin. I am fortunate to have great genes and oily skin that makes me look "youthful." I usually wash my skin only once per day, use a light moisturizer and sometimes use eye cream (if I remember) when I get ready in the morning.

The Body Shop has kindly asked me to participate in their Skin Care Test Drive in conjunction with BEAUTY LIVE at Galleria Dallas taking place March 17 & 18, 2012.  What makes this event so exciting is that it gives everyone a chance to experience beauty on another level with the best experts and brands in the beauty business! It’s like getting a front-row seat to Fashion Week, but all beauty!

I humbly went to The Body Shop to have my skin consultation with Lori Healy (972-934-0257) and was given a handful of products to try until the BEAUTY LIVE.  The Body Shop doesn’t have a “set” of products for a person's skin type.  They believe each person is different, so there isn’t necessarily one “set” regime that works for everyone, so you should meet with a skin care specialist at The Body Shop to access your skin care needs. Here are the skin care products that I will need for a full skin-care regimen over six weeks.

Tea Tree Skin Clearing Foaming Cleanser
Tea tree Skin Clearing Toner
Seaweed Pore Protector
Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream
Nutriganics Smoothing Eye Cream
Seaweed Pore-cleansing Facial Exfoliator
Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion
Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask
Tea Tree Oil & Gel

This is a MAJOR change from my typical beauty routine, and I look forward to reporting my results to you in mid-March.  The question is does extending your beauty routine or spending a little more on quality, natural products make a difference in your skin. What do you think?

Follow my progress and the join me and on March 18 and listen to me & others as we give our opinions of the products at BEAUTY LIVE from 2:30PM -3:30PM. BTW that's my birthday, so bring a cupcake too ;)

  1. I definitely see a difference! I've switched to using more natural products on my face, including plain ol' olive oil as moisturizer, and my skin is softer and glowier than ever. LOVE the Body Shop's offerings and the fact that they don't test on animals!

  2. So far so good! The first couple of days my skin has been in shock with all the "love" it has been receiving, but my skin is looking great :) Natural & no animal testing is a must for me too!
